How Does It Work?
The GentleLASE Plus allows pulses of true laser heat and light  to quickly clear
away unwanted hair.  Its patented Dynamic Cooling Device sprays a cooling
mist onto the skin milliseconds before the light pulse.  With spot sizes ranging
from 8 mm to 18 mm, the GentleLASE can effectively remove hair from smaller
areas such as upper lips to larger areas such as back and legs.

But How Does It Do It?
The red spectrum of light emitted from the Alexandrite stone is absorbed by
melanin, the substance which imparts color to hair and skin.  The wavelength of
the Alexandrite laser effectively allows the light to travel to the hair follicle and
impairs its ability to grow again.

How Many Treatments are Necessary?
Like all growing things, hair passes through stages.  A growing, thriving hair is in
the ideal stage for effective laser treatment.  Hair that is detaching from its follicle
and hair that is in the process of falling out will be replaced with new thriving hair.

Any given area of skin will contain hair in each of these three stages.  The goal is
to treat an area in one-to-two month intervals until thriving hair is eradicated.  It
can't be predicted how many treatments a given individual will need, although we
use an average of six.  It may take more or less depending on the person's hair
growth pattern.
